A Love Letter to Whiskey

It’s crazy how fast the buzz comes back after you’ve been sober for so long.

Whiskey stood there, on my doorstep, just like he had one year before. Except this time, there was no rain, no anger, no wedding invitation — it was just us.

It was just him — the old friend, the easy smile, the twisted solace wrapped in a glittering bottle.

It was just me — the alcoholic, pretending like I didn’t want to taste him, realizing too quickly that months of being clean didn’t make me crave him any less.

But we can’t start here.

No, to tell this story right, we need to go back.

Back to the beginning.

Back to the very first drop.

I wish I could give this 10 stars, I loved this book from beginning to end. I could not put it down. It was with me all day no matter what I was doing.

Jamie and Brecks story was amazing, heartbreaking, angsty, beautiful and just ... ugh, I would say perfect but no love story is and they are no exception, the writing now that's another story, pure perfection.

No, this love story is not perfect at all, it's a long and bumpy road, never the perfect time and so much heartache for them and the people they love or that love them. They just can't seem to get it all to fit together.

Brecks literally came crashing into Jamie's life and it wouldn't be the last time for either one, it's quite the pattern for both of them, leave, then come back thinking they have it all figured out and BAM they crash right into the other life at the completely wrong time.

I felt every bit of their heartaches and every small triumph along the way, I was in it with them. Kandi made it so vivid and real that you live this book!

Bottom line is this book needs to be read by everyone, this will definitely be a book club book soon, gotta spread the love!
