As an author, do you find that other people's work have influenced your own writing, if so, What book in particular do you refer to for inspiration when needed?
My personal opinion is that one cannot be an author without being a reader first and always. So yes, other books and authors do definitely influence my writing. I’m always reading, and when I read I’m always absorbing things, consciously and unconsciously, that work well, e.g. clever or especially captivating phrases and strong words, verbs, or descriptors. I can’t say at this time that there’s a specific book I go to frequently or regularly for inspiration, but I do read the newest releases by my friends and peers to stay abreast of what’s going on, of who’s doing what, what character archetype is current and hot, etc.
You’ve written so many books throughout your career, all of different themes and subject matters, yet; with so many books in your collection, is there one character you most likely relate too or can see yourself transforming into if you had the opportunity?
Well, I’ve said before that Anna from the Big Girls series is the most autobiographical character, so obviously I relate to her for that reason. But I think all of my characters have traits similar to me, and also traits that I wish I had.
What questions have you been burning to answer that no one has asked you? (this is your moment to ask yourself and answer it 😊 )
Hmmmm. What do you have in store for 2015? People have asked, but i’ve hedged my bets a bit.
Answer? First off after Falling Away goes live will be two projects i’ve been putting off for awhile that I”m excited to finish: Big Love Abroad, the spinoff sequel to the Rock Stars Do It books. This is Ian getting his book, which I’m geeked for. Ian got screwed over in those books and he deserves his time in the sun. So that book will be sexy and fun and did i mention sexy as hell? Yeah. Get ready for that one, especially if you’re a fan of the Big Girls books. There’s also Djinn & Tonic, the next book in the Houri Legends after Jack & Djinn. This book is fun and hot and has a strong paranormal element that i’m excited for. Its something different for me, and maybe for some of my readers, but its a book I enjoy. There’s a third one in that series already titled and covered, too: Djinn & Juice. I’ve also got some other really sexy and intriguing ideas in the shoot for the rest of the year. I’m toying with a shapeshifter idea, plus there’s Omega, the third book after Alpha and Beta. I’m also looking at a spinoff sequel series to those books, which would be fun and sexy and full of action.

Quick, Hollywood is at your door they want to make a movie of one of your books and want you to cast it as well… Which book do you pick and who do you cast?
Oh man. I would LOVELOVELOVE to see the Falling Series made into a movie. I’ve always seen Amanda Seyfried as Nell because she’s got the acting chops and she can sing like crazy. Visually, maybe Liam Hemsworth for Kyle, but Colt is harder. You have to get the eyes right, the vivid, arresting, electric blue eyes, but you also need someone who can sing and play guitar, so casting him is tricky. I”m not sure I could pick any one perfect actor for Colt, TBH. I mean, it’s COLT. He’s sex on a stick.
I also think Wounded and Captured would make incredible films. As for Wounded, you’d need a strong Arabic actress for Rania, though, and that’s a tricky thing to cast. I think an unknown cast specifically for that role would be best. For Hunter, I kind of like Jason Momoa. He’s huge, gorgeous, and has this awesome voice, I think he could really growl Hunter’s lines really well. For Captured, I see Chris Evans maybe, for Derek. He has this gravitas to him but also can portray a sense of humor, and Derek needs both. Charlie Hunnam, possibly. Rachel McAdams for Reagan, or maybe Emma Stone, Laurie Holden from Walking Dead. She needs to be strong and independent and bold, but with a core of vulnerability. Beautiful without looking too polished, because Reagan hasn’t had time for that kind of thing.

We your readers really believe that we know everything there is to know about you, with that said, is there something we would still be surprised to find out?
God, I really don’t know. I think with the recent release of the “Falling Into You” track, more people will be aware that i’m a classically trained musician and vocalist, and that was actually the main focus of my earlier careers.

Do you ever sleep or are you really a vampire?
I can fall asleep at the drop of a hat. Just ask Jack. Turn on a movie, and BAM, i’m gone.
