This book was my first from this author and it was a good book!
I love second chance romance, but also like the little bit of danger and family issues. I did feel that none of the issues were delved into deep enough, the characters didn't get into my head, so I didn't feel much, i was just reading. The story was great but felt it was missing some depth to pull me in emotionally.
Tyler is ex military and comes from money. Ella comes from a very broken home and no money, she is best friends with Tyler's sister, so they grew up together.
Tyler has commitment issues, but they come from family issues. Ella has trust issues which also come from family issues. They help each other get to the point where a relationship is possible for your their HEA.
This book can definitely be read as a standalone like I did, but I will say it can be frustrating when you don't know what they are referring to when they talk about the other characters.
